A Title & A Human Story

Last updated: 15 October 2026

1. Who We Are

A Title & A Human Story (AT & HS) is an independent leadership storytelling project dedicated to documenting and sharing the emotional experiences, reflections and lessons of leaders.

We respect your privacy and are committed to handling your personal information responsibly.

For privacy-related questions, contact us at stories@atitleandahumanstory.com.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Your name and email address.

  • Information you provide through our website contact form.

  • Messages exchanged through email or LinkedIn.

  • Leadership experiences, written reflections and voice recordings you voluntarily submit.

  • Your publication preferences, including whether you wish to be identified or remain anonymous.

  • Technical information collected through essential website functions and any additional cookies or analytics tools we choose to use.

Please avoid sharing confidential organisational information or identifying details about other people without appropriate permission.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to:

  • Respond to enquiries and expressions of interest.

  • Explain our project and invite voluntary participation.

  • Communicate with contributors and coordinate submissions.

  • Review, edit and prepare leadership stories.

  • Obtain and record contributors' publication approvals.

  • Publish approved stories in accordance with contributors' agreed preferences.

  • Maintain the security and operation of our website.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. How Contributors Participate

People may discover AT & HS through LinkedIn, our website, personal invitations or advertising.

Interested contributors may receive an introductory guide and a selection of leadership reflection questions.

Participation is voluntary. Contributors can choose which experiences they wish to share and whether to respond in writing or through voice recordings.

Submitting a story does not automatically grant permission for publication.

Before publication, contributors will be given an opportunity to review their edited stories and explicitly approve the final content and attribution.

5. Our Legal Basis for Processing Information

Under UK data protection law, we must have a lawful basis for processing personal information.

Depending on the circumstances, we may rely on legitimate interests to respond to enquiries and manage ordinary project communications, or consent where appropriate for particular activities.

We seek separate, explicit publication approval from contributors before sharing their stories publicly.

Where information requires additional protection under data protection law, we will assess the applicable requirements before processing or publishing it.

6. Confidentiality and Anonymity

We respect contributors' preferences regarding identification and anonymity.

Where anonymity is agreed, we will take reasonable steps to remove identifying details before publication. However, anonymity cannot always be guaranteed if the circumstances of a story make someone recognisable.

We encourage contributors to avoid disclosing sensitive information about colleagues, organisations or other individuals.

7. How We Store and Share Information

We use third-party services, including Squarespace for our website and Google Workspace for email communications.

We may also communicate through LinkedIn.

These providers may process information on our behalf or under their own privacy terms, depending on the service.

We do not publicly share personal contributions without the contributor's agreed publication approval, unless disclosure is otherwise required by law.

Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where applicable, we will take account of relevant UK data protection requirements.

8. How Long We Keep Information

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including managing enquiries, contributions, publication records and any applicable legal obligations.

We periodically review information that is no longer required.

9. Cookies and Website Analytics

Our website may use cookies necessary for its operation.

If we introduce optional analytics, advertising pixels or other non-essential tracking technologies, we will provide appropriate information and consent controls where required.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Under applicable UK data protection law, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal information.

  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information.

  • Request deletion of your information in certain circumstances.

  • Object to or restrict certain processing.

  • Withdraw consent where consent is our lawful basis.

  • Request data portability where applicable.

You can contact stories@atitleandahumanstory.com to make a privacy request.

You may also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at www.ico.org.uk.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the project develops or our data-handling practices change.

The latest version will be published on our website.
